  ok. most of us here at one time believed in the teachings of the wts.

  thankfully most of us are beyond that.. i have noticed that at times i will find some other way, any other way, to avoid using the name jehovah.. and i know i'm not alone.

  i think "outbutnotdown" phrased it best... most of us have friends and/or family in the WTBTS still, and we want them to see the "new light" that we have seen... we may not be viewed as apostates to these friends and family (yet), but we still want to get our message across to them in a nice and polite way... with this in mind, it would probably be more effective to use their anglocised version of the Hebrew Divine Name. but for those of us who have become christian and really view God as our father, it would be border-line offensive to use it in reference to God. i wouldnt disrespect my own father that much, as to call him by his first name.

  i havent been around much lately, and i'am almost scared to post.

  i came on to give everyone a big hello and to tell everyone whats been going on in my life this past year.. mostly ive been trying to put together a normal life after the lawsuit.

  i love you vicki, but i also love your brothers and sister. from their point of view, perhaps the reason why they're upset with you (not having talked to them about it... so this is based purely on assumption) is because it's been so long and it seems like its never going to end. and maybe they wish, if you had've pressed charges, that you would have done it 10 or 15 years ago... i hope people understand the context i am saying this in... i just try to put myself in every shoe possible... i WOULD do exactly what you're doing vicki... but i also WOULD get upset with you if i were your brother... it's a no-win situation and you can only do what your heart tells you to do.

  and vicki, you do have some family left...

  A million study the Bible in UK!

  but not with jehovah's witnesses.

  there is a big push on at the moment in uk for an 'introduction to christianity' called the alpha course.

  the course has been advertised widely and claims to have attracted over a million people to look into the meaning of life and what christianity has to offer.

  JW's need to toot their own horn because no one else will. but i have to admit, when i was a Jdub and going in the service/ministry, i would have rather either accompanied someone on a bible study, or conducted one myself than go door to door. the problem is for most witnesses, that they have a fear of rejection by their return visits, if they were to ask them if they'd like to study the bible. so nobody makes the transition from magazine call to bible study...

  yes these statements could both be true cerise and hippie... but the children in the up-to-date picture are very young... hard to say, but the wording seems to me to suggest that both the marriage and the move happened in 1993, and the photograph gives me the same impression

ALL BAPTIZED. i thought the watchtower at some point in space/time stated that they do not allow or at least do not encourage minors to get baptized... wasnt there a watchtower -written no doubt by one of the lawyers- talking about how it is not a practise among Jehovah's Witnesses to allow children to be baptized? the youngest member of this family could be no more than 9 years old. might as well have baptized her when she was an infant.

  actually the whole article is pretty stupid... take the time to read it and get the full gist of it. and then get as mad as i did

  what i was thinking about is, since most of us that post on jwd remain annonymous, i wonder how many of us know someone else that posts on this site, but dont know that they post on this site... i keep hearing of new apostates (people that are aquaintances of mine) that are popping up... and i notice that a few people here are from ontario, canada.

  too bad i may never know who you are, even though i may know who you are (get it???!!!).

  it really spells out to me just how afraid most of us are.

  kwintestal... depending on how old you are and where abouts in ontario you were raised, i may just know you. i have been to all of those assembly/convention halls. i was at copps this past summer for the sunday... and once in a while i visit norval to see what's up with all the JW sluts... haha...

  what i was thinking about is, since most of us that post on JWD remain annonymous, i wonder how many of us know someone else that posts on this site, but dont know THAT they post on this site... i keep hearing of new apostates (people that are aquaintances of mine) that are popping up... and i notice that a few people here are from ontario, canada. too bad i may never know who you are, even though i may know who you are (GET IT???!!!). it really spells out to me just how afraid most of us are. i dont want to be a witness, but i sure as hell dont want to get kicked out. i happen to like some witnesses, especially my family members

  not necessarily in that order
